Client is a `direct sales` nutritional
supplements and skin care company (such as Amway or Herbalife). Looking for
someone from that industry to manage the day-to-day EU operations. Will be
part of the European management team and will be instrumental in driving
growth, stability and profitability throughout Europe.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Working with management team to map out a strategic
operating plan to meet revenue and profitability goals. Review ongoing
performance results to target, takes corrective action when needed.
Establish operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality
and on-time delivery. Evaluate the current supply chain in Europe and take
action to improve and streamline operations where appropriate. Identify and
execute cost improvements, shorten lead-times, evaluate customer base, etc.
Identify and implement changes in process to avoid operational bottlenecks.
Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure cost efficiency. Improve
overall operations performance. Will have responsibility for small call
center, IT, and logistics of products distributed in Europe but
manufactured elsewhere.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management,
international relations or related field plus 5 years progressively responsible
work experience related to international business operations. Ideal
candidate will be a strategic, hands-on business leader with a proven track
record of success. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiar with
nutritional/personal care industry with established industry contacts.
Action-oriented and hands-on operating style with leadership presence.
Broad business experience with a strong customer focus. Understanding of
supply chain organization dealing with inventory, shipping, distribution
and warehouse operations. Ability to ensure systems are in place to manage
in a data-driven manner; ability to execute against a budget. Strong verbal
and written communication skills. English language skills. Ability to
travel when necessary.

Company is a rapidly growing network
marketing company with an immediate opening for a General Manager position
to be based in Europe. They are a multilevel marketing company in
the nutraceutical dietary supplement, personal care, and skin care
industry. Financially viable company based in the U.S. with plans to do
business on a very broad international basis and is now making entry into
the European Union. The position of General Manager will provide an
exciting opportunity to the selected individual to be part of a company,
with enormous growth potential. The ideal candidate for this position will be
experienced in international business and multilevel marketing. There will
also be a strong preference for candidates with management experience.
Duties: Supervise human resource needs (including cross-border employment
law issues) and oversee Switzerland based operations personnel; Plan,
develop, and implement aggressive business goals; Supervise budget,
accounting and finance functions; Establish networking marketing channels
in emerging markets in Europe and elsewhere; Develop international corporate
training programs; Supervise operational issues, including product
registrations, customs clearance, foreign tax registrations and business
regulatory matters; Supervise global manufacturing and sourcing
relationships; Function as inter-company liaison between the United States
and global market sectors. Requirements: An undergraduate degree in
business plus 2 years experience in international business; or equivalent
combination, with 1 year in a supervisory position. Other Skills and
Abilities: Must have excellent reading, writing and speaking abilities in
the English language. German or French language skills are a plus. Travel:
Periodic international travel will be required.
