on their extensive Underground Coal Reserves which, through a coal
gasification process, are turned into Synthesis gas and fuel.
This is a permanent
full-time, NOT contract, family-status assignment base in the beautiful city
of Brisbane, Australia (1MM+ population) located in the State of Queensland
near the "Gold Coast" coastal resort area (similar to a combination
of Miami, Florida and Las Vegas).
** Salary is in Australian dollars ($240K AUS), approximately $180K US, but

The General Manager would be responsible for an existing demonstration and

in petrochemical processes, to serve as the company technical authority in

recommendations given. 4) Use of Bentley Nevada Data Manager vibration

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide front line technical support to
Maintenance and Operations regarding gas compressors and pumps, with
additional emphasis on combustion gas turbines. This is a "hands
on" position that requires an individual who is capable of and willing
to work in the field with the equipment. Specific experience working with
General Electric and Rolls Royce Turbines will be considered a plus. Primary
tasks are as follows:
1) Troubleshoot and resolve pumps and compressors operating problems.
Requires an in depth knowledge of turbine control systems operation, turbine
operating parameters, and start-up and shutdown sequencing.
2) Conduct pumps and compressors inspections at the industry accepted
inspection intervals, determine condition of internal parts, establish
component life limits for safe turbine operation, make recommendations for
scheduling of major gas generator/turbine overhauls and develop the scopes of
work including references to vendor bulletins.
3) Troubleshoot and resolve gas compressors and pumps operating problems,
including vibration concerns, bearings, couplings, seals and specifying the
correct equipment (metallurgy) for the service conditions.
4) Determine the current alignment values for rotating equipment and be able
to conduct alignment checks in the field.
