Civil/ Structural Engineer III

You will be responsible for providing civil, structural and architectural engineering of new chemical plants, major expansions and debottlenecking of existing plants and infrastructure facilities for conception, design, and execution phases of projects. This includes project scope development, conceptual planning, estimating, detailed design, project execution, and coordination of capital and expense projects of medium complexity. Additionally, this position provides interpretation of building codes, evaluations of existing facilities and provides expertise, knowledge, and interpretations in ACI, AISC, ASCE, iBC, and other applicable Codes and Standards. You will provide technical direction for Discipline Engineers and Designers {in-house and/or third party engineering firm) during the engineering phase of the projects. Bonus Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering and 4-5 years of experience in civil / structural design engineering related fields. This position is responsible for providing Piping Engineering leadership to support project scope development, estimating, detailed design, checking, and project execution for in-house projects. Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required. 5 - 10 years' experience in the operations, maintenance, and construction of electrical power transmission, distribution, generations, and SCADA and/or communication system is required.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required to interface with internal and external customers.  Ability to work well in a team environment is necessary.

The Power Distribution Engineer plans and coordinates the work activities of the power distribution and maintenance crews engaged in the operations, maintenance and construction of the Freeport, TX site electrical power transmission, distribution, and generations systems. The successful candidate will be expected to assure compliance, review necessary information, schedule necessary tests and provide reports to ERCOT, NODAL, TRE and NERC in timely manner. Directly responsible for the Power Distribution's SCADA system. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 Assists Power Distribution Manager and evaluate the work performance of crews; provides training and oversees the work of contractors.

 Reviews, coordinates, and assists activities involving switching, maintenance and operation of the electrical power system.

 Inspects field work to ensure conformance with plans and specifications; maintains proper and safe working environment. 

·
 Reviews power distribution operating procedures, maintenance records and schedules, and database. 

·
 Identifies and recommends changes in existing power distribution system and suggests changes in plans to meet operational or department requirements and regulations.

 Interface with transmission service provider (REP, QSE) and internal procurement and energy management team. Work with Corporate procurement for securing back-up power for the site and monitor MCPE.

 Assist Operations Manager in developing and controlling the Operations and maintenance budget

 Communicate Cogen TAR with QSE and secure back-up power for the outage.

The Refinery is located north of Salt Lake City, Utah and has a crude oil capacity of 31,000 barrels per day.  It is a high conversion refinery that has advantaged access to regional sweet and black wax crudes as well as pipeline access to Canadian crude oils.  The refined products are marketed primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, and eastern Washington. Approx. 220 employees

 

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience in refining and/or petrochemical.  Emphasis on power distribution and controls engineering.  Conducts engineering duties for Electrical Engineering discipline and functions as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts.  This person reports to Supervisor over the Instrument/Electrical Engineers and the Process Control Engineers.  Utah petroleum refinery.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides discipline specific engineering assistance, direction and development assistance to colleagues .•Solves technical problems related to projects and troubleshoots and updates report data for business unit(s).  Upgrades, designs, configures, maintains and monitors related equipment and performance.  Analyzes related components and systems, processes and methods, and refinery processes and economics.  Develops project scopes, budgets and AFE’s for approval and ensures projects meet budget as well as refinery and OSHA standards.  Ensures the maintenance and integrity of business unit(s) data.  Optimizes business unit(s) and analyzes data to aid operations with decisions.   Researches and stays abreast of assigned discipline subjects, innovations and leading edge developments. Develops systems to document and track the testing and assist in the maintenance of the various systems.

 

 May be required to do: Coordinate, facilitate and document Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and participate in and facilitate incident investigations. Provide training on PHA and Incident Investigation facilitation and general training on Management Of Change (MOC), incident investigations, PHA’s and Pre-start up Safety Reviews (PSSR).  Participate in, facilitate and support Process Safety related audits and Layers Of Protection Analysis (LOPA) reviews and assist in Process Safety action items solution development. Update the Refinery Risk Management Program (RMP) as needed.

 

Design plant equipment and devise processes for manufacturing chemicals and products.  Conduct research to develop new and improved product manufacturing processes.  Design and plan layout for product processes on a commercial scale . Determine most effective arrangement of operations.  Implement processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.  Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems.  Recommend and implement improvements and/or modification in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.  Review proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing processing equipment. Assist with clean fuel projects.  Improve profitability of the refinery. Design and build plant additions and modifications. One of the largest North America based petroleum based, gas, pipelines, terminals business has an opening for a Plant Maintenance Manager. This company was named as "Top Places to Work in Houston", has had significant growth in the past 15 years (from $718 million to $38 billion) and still growing. Publicly traded company. Facility is located on the east side of Houston. Excellent school districts in this location. Large facility (over 500 employees and growing).

Job Requirements: B.S. degree in Engineering desired, and 8-10 years of experience in related field with background and experience in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing, controlling, coordinating and directing a Maintenance Department. ? . Must possess a balance of the technical, human relations and conceptual skills required to achieve results through subordinate supervision. Must be capable of evaluating and weighing alternatives, establishing relative priorities and formulating decisions that affect all phases of the operation. 

Job Description:  The Plant Maintenance Manager coordinates major maintenance initiatives throughout the region, such as: planning, directing and controlling the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain plant equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient manner commensurate with good engineering practices.. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: . Accountable for maintenance of production equipment and facilities. . Develop, maintain and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities. Execute an effective predictive and preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time. . Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition. Schedule needed repair to have minimum interference. . Recommend modifications of existing equipment and facilities and the possible replacement of existing equipment which will improve operations and reduce maintenance costs. . Responsible for the efficient maintenance of all plant transportation equipment. . Responsible for maintaining Maintenance tools and equipment. . Responsible for Plant building maintenance and repair. . Review and approve R and M requisitioning and invoicing. . Develop an annual budget that will adequately provide for required Maintenance activities. Review and report monthly on performance against budget. . Plan and provide for an adequate supply and ensure control over spare parts and maintenance supplies. . Responsible for employee development and safety. Responsible for employee discipline.
