Client is a dynamic publicly-traded Australian company that is developing synthetic fuels based on their extensive Underground Coal Reserves which, through a coal gasification process, are turned into Synthesis gas and fuel.

 

This is a permanent full-time, NOT contract, family-status assignment base in the beautiful city of Brisbane, Australia (1MM+ population) located in the State of Queensland near the "Gold Coast" coastal resort area (similar to a combination of Miami, Florida and Las Vegas).

** Salary is in Australian dollars ($240K AUS), approximately $180K US, but also includes significant (e.g., 200,000) share options, car, full relocation, laptop, phone, and salary packaging + full visa/immigration processing for the family, 4 weeks vacation, and Superannuation (9%).

The General Manager would be responsible for an existing demonstration and research facility nearby, as well as specific accountabilities as they relate to the development of a COMMERCIAL UCG business.  This is a STRATEGIC role in charting the business's future.

Ensure job plans are maintained in the CMMS in a way that they can be located and used

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises three to five employees in the Planning and Scheduling Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and/or one to three year related Planning and Scheduling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience is preferred.

The Corp.  is seeking an engineering specialist with extensive experience in petrochemical processes, to serve as the company technical authority in the challenging areas of full conversion refinery integrated with petrochemicals related processes and construction of new petrochemicals complexes. The candidate must hold a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the design and operation of petrochemicals facilities, and in the latest technologies in production of primary refinery derived petrochemicals feed stocks (Ethylene, Propylene and/or Aromatics). Experience: 1) Installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of aero-derivative combustion gas turbines (CGT`s), as well as with gas compressors and centrifugal pumps for oil and gas processing facilities. 2) Solar and GE Industrial gas turbines is beneficial. 3) Technical report writing that includes: presentations, job scopes for major turbine overhauls, reports issued after successful installation/commissioning of CGT`s (or after major overhaul or control system upgrade), reports issued after investigation of equipment faults including determining root cause of the problem and recommendations given. 4) Use of Bentley Nevada Data Manager vibration monitoring systems is desirable. 5) Knowledge of equipment health monitoring systems for predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime, repair costs, reduce energy costs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide front line technical support to Maintenance and Operations regarding gas compressors and pumps, with additional emphasis on combustion gas turbines. This is a "hands on" position that requires an individual who is capable of and willing to work in the field with the equipment. Specific experience working with General Electric and Rolls Royce Turbines will be considered a plus. Primary tasks are as follows:
1) Troubleshoot and resolve pumps and compressors operating problems. Requires an in depth knowledge of turbine control systems operation, turbine operating parameters, and start-up and shutdown sequencing.
2) Conduct pumps and compressors inspections at the industry accepted inspection intervals, determine condition of internal parts, establish component life limits for safe turbine operation, make recommendations for scheduling of major gas generator/turbine overhauls and develop the scopes of work including references to vendor bulletins.
3) Troubleshoot and resolve gas compressors and pumps operating problems, including vibration concerns, bearings, couplings, seals and specifying the correct equipment (metallurgy) for the service conditions.
4) Determine the current alignment values for rotating equipment and be able to conduct alignment checks in the field.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Initiates or conducts special studies for improving facilities or operation. 2. Provides special technical service in recognized engineering fields. 3. Acts as consultant on complex engineering problems. 4. Designs constructs, and commissions new facilities. 5. Coordinates or directs work of other engineers. 6.
