Seeking an experienced Branch Operations Supervisor to serve as the right hand to the Operations Manager at a major distribution center of a global chemical company.

 

Transportation expertise with leading a large team of drivers and fleet of vehicles is essential. Essential Job Functions include:
Oversee safe, efficient, legal and economical operation of all warehouse, packaging, and transportation activities for the distribution of quality products. Dispatch, route and manage all fleet vehicles, ensuring proper operations and maintenance at all times. Plan, organize and manage a team of drivers to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with company and customer requirements. The position requires a BSEE or BSChE degree from an accredited institution and 3+ years of chemical plant or refinery experience. Review DCS diagnostics routinely, determine root cause of the issues related to both hardware and software. Includes TCP/IP networks, servers, operator stations, controllers, I/O busses and modules. Maintain all system hardware drawings. Review all knowledge base articles from Emerson for applicability. Manage system preventative maintenance program. Propose permanent corrective action
and system upgrades as necessary.

Tune regulatory control loops. Review Event Chronicle, PHV, AMS, Inspect, DeltaV diagnostics, and instrument diagnostics routinely. Determine root cause for issues related to regulatory control loops. Propose permanent corrective action to resolve.

Design, review, configure, enhance, and document control system configuration for a Continuous/Batch process as it relates to daily operational support or project team implemented changes. The refinery began installing RBI (Risk Based Inspection) system over a year ago as a proactive measure to keep Safety issues in check. Work with the Client to finalize agreement on the turnover plan (and commissioning where applicable), which will identify the roles responsibilities. Review all performance indicators on a shift basis, and as part of the monthly construction and business operation reviews. Provide input and take actions where required to hit targets. Align the project team to the contractual obligations and participate in contract review meetings. Conduct lessons learned sessions at key milestones identified within the construction execution plan in order to drive continuous improvement of the project and processes.  Review all performance indicators each shift and provide input/take action where required to ensure targets are met.

Manage and apply risk management to any project risks to ensure risk is minimized. Manage the manpower loading requirements by reviewing the bi-weekly manpower forecast and prioritizing labour loading based on project requirements and business priorities. Work with the Project team and client to finalize agreement on the system turnover plan, which will identify the roles and responsibilities and deliverables of client team. Work with the Functional Team Leads to align their functional plans and deliverables based on the project schedule. Develop the project documentation plan and oversee the management of the project documentation. Develop and implement the Project Communication plan.  Forecast project revenues and margins. Manage project cash flows by analyzing revenue in excess and accounts receivables.  Drive actions within the project to achieve project targets. Oversee preparation and delivery of the Financial Project Closeout Report.

 

Communication:  Develop the construction execution plan and manage to the plan through regular meetings with project team.  Hold both parties accountable for delivery of materials and engineering packages as defined within the project execution plan. Establish, communicate and execute project priorities as they apply to the Divisional Strategy and Client Contract 


Document Administration: Approve and submit any invoice/timesheet expenses which have business unit expenditures to the appropriate projects. Complete and submit monthly documents to the appropriate departments. (e.g. timesheets, expense reports, etc.).
