Our USA client is a global power generation (IPP) firm with power plants representing a total generation capacity of 7,686 MW. The plants are located in the UK, the Netherlands, Mexico and Australia. Mexican citizens are preferred for this position, but candidates from other countries might be considered. Relocation assistance will be provided. Fluent in Spanish is mandatory.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the key purpose of the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental / Quality Supervisor (HSSE) will act as coordinator, supervisor, educator, planner and evaluator of the health, safety, security and environmental / Quality programs. The employee will assist the plant manager to ensure plant compliance on applicable health, safety and environmental regulations, standards and requirements. The position demands deep knowledge of applicable regulatory standards. The successful candidate will assist all employees in health, safety and environmental matters. Collect data and information in order to resolve health, safety and environmental issues. Establish HSSE plans and programs consistent with HSSE policies and requirements. Be responsible for the management and implementation of the ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 standards. Custodian of the Company quality program on site. The employee will promote the importance of HSSE in plant as well as externally through awareness, training, coaching and specific programs. Communication, planning, administration and interpersonal skills are required for this position. It is a requirement to possess the ability to interact and work in a matrix, high commitment environment. Ability to travel is also required for this position.

Job Responsibilities: Support Plant Manager in the design and implementation of HSSE policies, procedures, plans and projects. Acts as representative of ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 systems. Supervise the compliance in terms of HSSE policies and procedures. Responsible for environmental administration compliance through the establishment of programs and initiatives. Responsible for environmental system principles establishment and implementation. Responsible for collecting data and reporting on the plant’s environmental performance. Responsible for protecting the company assets based on company policies and procedures. Do no incur in corrupt practices. Responsible for managing the site security program. Responsible for quality program on site.
Position Functions: Responsible for establishing HSSE policies and procedures relating to the plant operation, emergency response, employee’s safety and general health and safety issues. Perform periodic environmental assessments to infrastructure through specialized outsider consultants and report findings to Plant Manager. Provide specialized technical assistance through engineering specialists as well as helping with technical problem resolution while providing assistance from an environmental standpoint. Monitors the health and safety registries installations and assists Plant Manager in the zero accidents goal completion. Provides supervision and quality control as needed to ensure the plant equipment and infrastructure are used under the HSSE parameters. Responsible for complying with all regulatory reporting systems and internal communication to employees, region and corporate team. Updates employees on HSSE regulations on time to avoid incidents. Responsible for reporting HSSE incidents and accidents through the BITS HSSE reporting system. Responsible for identifying potential HSSE risks and building corrective action plans when needed. Responsible for the annual HSSE assessment in plant. Tracks the completion of specific corrective actions as described in the action plans resulting from periodic assessments. Supports other IG plants in the establishment of plans and programs. Responsible for maintaining direct communication with corporate HSSE department including participation on conference calls, meetings and annual conferences. Responsible for the appropriate hazardous and non hazardous waste management in the plant. Responsible for establishing the emergency preparedness plans and programs. Responsible for the management of the site security program.

(Strategic Planning Director for Electrical Power Generation Firm)

This is a high profile executive level position responsible for leading the development and execution of an enterprise wide strategic planning framework for this mid-sized power generation firm.
The job entails significant interaction with the Company’s senior management team as well as functional and regional leadership. You will be responsible for leading analysis for enterprise strategy including long-range scenario planning and portfolio management decisions, and consulting on new market strategies. You will oversee and lead enterprise strategic planning, which include establishment and refinement of an annual strategic planning program and execution of that framework.
The strategic planning process requires close coordination with the highest levels of the organization and regional and functional heads, and their respective strategy leads. This requires a close working relationship with the Financial Planning and Analysis group, the finance team and FP&A to integrate strategy with the business planning and budgeting process.
You will manage the Strategy Team located in Headquarters, maintain coordinated strategic planning efforts among the Company’s enterprise, regional and functional organizations. You will also recruit, develop, coach and retain high quality professional staff and other duties associated with an executive level strategic planning role.
To qualify you should have a Bachelor’s degree with a preference for an advanced degree in business management (MBA, equivalent or similar degree) and at least ten years of experience in the energy sector, with a preference for electricity generation, or in a relevant strategy role. You should also have International experience, with an appropriately broad exposure to various aspects of the electricity generation business. You should be comfortable interacting at the board level, with shareholders and with shareholder representatives and able to represent the company effectively with outside firms and agencies, including the ability to efficiently lead external advisory teams. Our client’s Environmental Siting and Licensing PM/CSM careers provide you with the opportunity to work on siting and licensing projects particularly focused on gas pipelines, with additional opportunities to lead power, energy facilities (both traditional and renewable), and electric transmission lines. Each day, you will be the face of the company with the responsibility for developing project work and leading project teams in all phases of the execution and delivery of pipeline, energy, and utility projects.
You should be a self-motivated professional with 10-15+ years of experience in the energy-related siting and licensing field in the United States, preferably in the Gulf Coast. You will need an understanding of, and experience with the FERC certification process, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and state and local permitting. You will be self-motivated to make contacts with prospective clients and helping them develop growth strategies. You will participate in client development discussions, and writing proposals for submission to clients. Lead project teams in all phases of the execution and delivery of complex siting and licensing projects focused on oil and gas pipelines power, natural gas, and infrastructure projects, including FERC filings: 7(B) – abbreviated abandonment filing, 7(C) – full filing, 30 day Prior Notice Filing – abbreviated, and FERC resource reports. Experienced in Texas and/or Louisiana permitting processes, particularly for pipelines is needed as well as demonstrate experience and a working knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) or state equivalent requirements.
