Sr Supplier Development Engineer

Periodically audit locations and negative WIP conditions and provide meaningful feedback and measures to sustain location accuracy. Maintain Production Bill of Material Accuracy in conjunction with Product Development Engineering and Quality Management. Global Procurement Director

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Global Senior Sourcing Manager will lead and drive execution of international and domestic sourcing and supply chain strategies in a collaborative team based environment to achieve both tactical and strategic goals, including serving as an expert in influencing, leading and driving project implementation of sourcing strategies. Energetic, strong growth $9B "Blue Chip" US and Global technology and product manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Sr. Buyer at their corporate headquarters for company-wide purchasing of direct raw materials.

Reporting to the VP of Purchasing, you will:

- Coordinate all activities related to procurement of raw materials from intent to purchase through delivery.
- Analyze the requirements of the commodity, including detailed specifications, preferred suppliers, and the date commodity/service is needed
- Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested commodity/service.
- Investigate and/or interview potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
- Advise team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
- Negotiate the lowest possible cost (price, payment and freight terms) for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
- Implement purchase agreements that comply with department, company and government regulations.
- Assure that the commodity/service is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
- Maintain timely control of all vendor quotes, price lists and related information to assure accurate retention of records as required.

You will be:

- Responsible for accuracy of detailed item description, including commodity codes, to ensure expedient order fulfillment and to facilitate standardization process and provide correct data for RFQ analysis.
- Responsible for order processing, including distribution to suppliers, and all confirmations; the accuracy of which is vital to system interfaces which also includes Accounts Payable system.
- Responsible for resolving A/P Work Flow issues promptly.
- Responsible for requesting item set-up information to Master Data Management when necessary to set up new items in JDE system, including complete description and G/L class code, commodity codes and population of information in correct business unit(s).
- Responsible for obtaining and reporting correct Country of Origin for each business unit (information vital to treaty compliance).
- Coordinate appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity/service in a cost effective manner.


- minimum of 5+ years of buying/purchasing experience.
- experience with a $30M+ annual spend preferably with raw/direct materials as opposed to MRO or indirect materials.
- experience buying within and for a $1B+ sized company or organization.
- Bachelors degree in Business or related discipline.
- Experience in a textile or chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating major purchasing contracts.
- Demonstrated experience performing business and data analysis to determine the best course of action to improve department efficiency, control cost, and improve process and procedures.
