The International Logistics Manager (ILM) is responsible for the management and oversight of operational and logistical components, as well as, vendor relationships and contracts, related to International outreach events and projects.   • Archive and/or present research from scouting and advance trips.
  • Travel extensively for scouting trips, advance trips and outreaches. Expected at least 25% of time.
  • Complete work requests, and purchase orders for airline fares and other logistical expenses. Secure required signatures and approvals on all purchases/payments/contracts as required. Submit request first to Field Operations Manager.
  • Regularly take, or delegate the taking of, supplies and equipment inventory in outreach countries immediately following an outreach event. Collect complete inventory signed by taker of inventory and provide report to Field Operations Manager and Phoenix-Based Logistics Manager to use for future ordering and management of international inventory manifest.
  • Serve as “Local Worker Manager” during international outreaches, overseeing the hiring of, training of, reassignment of, and termination (as necessary) of local workers and volunteers serving on events. Oversee compensation of these individuals at the end of the event. This task may be reassigned to another individual by the Field Operations Manager.
  • Negotiate, confirm, and manage all in-country vendor contracts relating to group lodging, transportation, and hospitality. Including but not limited to hotel contract, ground transportation contract, restaurant or meal arrangements, airport luggage transfer in-country, and domestic flights or other transportation for staff and participants within outreach country.
  • Sign off on all final invoices received from vendors and submit to Event Manager for final approval; Ensure all financial obligations (i.e. medical supplies payments, hotel bills) of the ministry are settled timely according to the terms of payment specified in the agreement. Request invoices from vendors in advance to ensure ample time to review and question discrepancies before final settlement.
  • Resolve any discrepancies with Trip Controller.
  • Conduct [either] advance trip prior to outreach, or advance trip immediately preceding the outreach, in order to secure vendor contracts and prepare for Group arrival.
  • Manage Group Arrival/Departure Report as provided by Phoenix-Based Logistics Manager. Review to identify discrepancies. Adjust vendor contracts according to actual participant numbers and needs. Coordinate ground transportation and luggage transfer according to group arrivals and departures.
  • Oversee group arrival and departure into/out of outreach country under leadership of Event Manager.
  • Oversee or delegate hotel check-in for group participants.

Regional Logistics Manager - Manufacturing

Regional Logistics Manager to support the logistics activities for five (5) manufacturing plants. Three in US and two in Europe. Candidates must show responsibility for having multi plant manufacturing responsibility.

Under the general direction of the Global Supply Chain Director, the position will be responsible for logistics activity, including road transportation, warehouse operations and services, sea freight, air freight, and transportation safety and security. The position may be based at Washington or Arizona manufacturing sites. The role will function as a Logistics functional expert in the company and champion global best practices across the organization. The position requirements are as follows:

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Driving the implementation and ongoing safe and cost effective operations of all regional logistics activities, including road transportation, warehousing services, sea freight and where necessary air freight. Working with our Sourcing organization to negotiate contracts with all Regional logistics service providers thereby ensuring a continually competitive logistics cost and service base across the Regional network.  Managing our operational relationship with 3rd party logistics companies, freight forwarders, warehouse providers and customs brokers.  Implementing logistics improvement initiatives, including systems, targeting best practice safety and cost optimization whilst supporting business stated customer service targets, strategic initiatives and inventory requirements.  Serving as a functional expert regarding National and International Freight Management, consulting with business leaders on new business opportunities and cost reduction partnership with existing customers. Assessing the logistical security and risk to business continuity and advising the business on appropriate risk mitigation strategies, including insurance; as well as leading the implementation of transportation security initiatives such as CTPAT / AEO certifications, where applicable.  Advising the business on the optimization of tariffs via Free Trade Agreements, Most Favored Nation agreements, global harmonized tariff codes, etc.  Acting as the Regional Business Process Owner for Transportation and Warehousing. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:  A four year college degree in a quantitative or technical discipline. Sourcing projects will range from $500k to multi-million dollars in annual spend.  This position will work with key functional and internal stakeholders to capture business requirements, develop the appropriate sourcing strategy, evaluate responses from the supply market and negotiate agreements that deliver best value.  Duties include:


• Conduct research and analyze supply marketplace, maintain working knowledge of business trends including industry issues, cost drivers, global pricing, market conditions, and economic indicators.
