Our long term Client of 20+ years is searching for the position of Manager, Trade Compliance - NAFTA, which will lead the North America Trade Compliance department to ensure compliance efforts satisfy the domestic and international laws and regulations for the import and export of products (including parts, whole goods, and components) between the company and its plants/depots, vendors/suppliers, dealers and customers for North America region including US, Canada and Mexico.
Responsibilities: - Coordinate resources to maximize the import/export compliance for whole goods, service parts and components to minimize adverse governmental actions while at the same time minimizing cost and providing delivery service and reliability - Develop, implement and maintain processes and systems for North America region customs import and export compliance. Review current processes and implement improvements where necessary. Ensure these processes are in line with Global Strategic Trade and Compliance Policy.
Manage company-wide training and education programs to ensure the proper visibility and control of these processes. - Conduct root cause analysis and proactive risk assessments of the customs process (in collaboration with Global Strategic Trade and Compliance) and take necessary countermeasures for any non-compliance to minimize the risk of substantial federal civil fines, penalties, liquidated damages and seizures and thus diminish devastating disruptions in global supply chain for production and or sales due to non-compliance.
