Principle Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing Piping Engineering leadership to support project scope development, estimating, detailed design, checking, and project execution for in-house projects for this global chemical firm.

 

You will provide technical direction for Discipline Engineers and Designers (in-house and/or third party engineering firm) during the engineering phase of the projects. Survey losses, typically at residential and commercial buildings and loss scenes. Must be willing to travel to client locations. The Ideal General Manager would have:

Bachelor’s Degree in construction, civil engineering is required and MBA is preferred but not required.  Proven 20+ year track record of experience in construction industry, progressing into senior management within engineering organization especially specialized in Road Construction.

 

At least 7 years experience as a General Manager in civil construction.  At least 5 years experience in the Middle East.  A good people manager who can motivate his staff and himself. A persuasive character who can get the job done.

Qualifications: Desirable: 5 Years Degree course in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute and five years experience in Dairy/Food/Beverages industry in a similar position.

Experience of working with automated equipment and instrumentation, computer literacy and SAP knowledge highly desirable. Any additional qualifications in alternative Engineering discipline electrical/ mechanical Engineering are an advantage

 

Experience: Minimum 7 Years Engineering Management experience in a similar role. Working with a multi skilled workforce with a Food industry background is essential. Extensive knowledge Engineering Plant, equipment and control systems including research design and development of automated equipment

Detailed Knowledge of PPM Implementation and Management. Experience in conducting Health and Safety, and Quality Audits. Permit to Work and Risk Assessment competency is desirable.

Senior Project Manager – US Embassy Projects

Saudi Arabia (and other locations) 

USD $150,000 - $180,000 plus excellent expatriate allowances

 

Our client is a USA General Contractor with over 30 years of construction experience. The firm specializes in U.S. federal funded design-build projects in the Middle East, Europe and Africa requiring general contractor and regional expertise. For this position we are looking for US candidates with a security clearance and experience working on building US embassy projects. You will be working in Cairo for a few months then transfer to other locations in the Middle East as the project advances.

 

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall success, safety, and timely completion of a construction project.  The Sr. Project Manager will plan and manage project construction activities and schedules and provide technical consultation to project teams, government agencies and clients. Requires 12-15 years of project management experience on large commercial construction projects ($50M+); knowledge of scheduling and organization techniques; must possess excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills; must be authorized to work in the United States and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and willingness to work overseas.

 

Requires an Engineering Bachelor’s degree as well as previous experience with OBO/Embassy and/or US Government overseas contracts.  Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain a U.S. Security clearance (Secret Clearance required).   Four (4) year technical or engineering degree (or equivalent advanced degree) plus extensive experience in the management of construction segments.  Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and company operations required. Experience as a project manager on several different projects large in scale, cost, and complexity.  Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and analytical skills a necessity. Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
