Our client is a national company that is a stocking distributor, assembler, and industrial services company for pressure control, and flow valves for the refining and oil industry. Their facility is over $4million in revenue and has about 15 –20 employees who are a combination of Inside Sales, Shop and Field Techs. Their southern California clients are companies like Exxon/Mobil, Phillips, Valero, Tesoro, Fluor, Jacobs, etc.
 
The General Manager will be responsible for the operational and financial development & management of the California business unit. Looking for a person with vision & high level of motivation who can develop goals, implement & manage changes to reach those goals, and motivate, support & develop a team to achieve those goals.  The ideal profile is someone with 10-15 years’ experience with oilfield engineered products who has a strong and proven record of showing top line growth and keeping a company profitable. Definitely wants a self-motivated, forward thinker rather than someone who will just run day-to-day operations.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
 
Planning Administration: Provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the board and staff with the development and implementation of short and long term plans. Develop & prepare progress report on meeting of the short and long term goals (and creates supporting analysis documents & proposals on how to achieve goals as needed). Able to effectively manage change.
 
HR Management: Determine staffing requirements, interview & hire new employees, employee development, performance management and improvement systems, employment & compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting. Direct supervision over several departments, including administrative, customer service, sales, and repair shop.
 
Financial Management: Oversee preparation of annual budget, provide vision regarding overall financial health of the unit, provide leadership in long-range fiscal planning to ensure continuity and solvency of the unit, ensure financial metrics are reached. Review of financial statements and development of productivity/sales performance measurements to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
 
Production/QC:  Ensure accurate documentation of production and QC data/records. Direct and oversee site production activities and personnel, ensure high safety standards at all times. Direct production activities to ensure safety and compliance with quality control standards, regulatory compliance and lease agreements. Ensure good housekeeping at site at all times.
 
Administrative Management:  Ensure client and vendor file integrity (documents, analytical information, communication notations etc.). Maintain general oversight and ensure accuracy of records (A/R, A/P, Inventory etc.). Assist in development of tools to increase company efficiency and risk management. Monitor businesses/agencies and ensure they efficiently and effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
 
Sales Management: Active involvement in customer satisfaction process. Develops and shapes sales strategy, provides vision and direction for outside sales team as required. Creates measurable goals and implements progress reporting based on goals to communicate with both company sales team and manufacturers/suppliers as needed. Research and develop new opportunities for revenue based on voice of the customer.
 
Work Experience: Minimum of 15 years of related business experience with a track record of successful management of a profitable organization. Direct supervision/management experience a must. Self-starter who can operate with little direct supervision. Ability to work in a team setting, high level of positive motivational skills with strong leadership qualities. Excellent listening skills, with the ability to show empathy when required. This position in the Corporate Engineering Services Department will provide planning and scheduling expertise to support capital projects throughout North America

 

Key roles and responsibilities include: Provide planning and scheduling support on multiple investments of various size and complexity from Study, Pre-FEED, FEED and design phase onward. Experience in the use of Microstation CAD Software. Familiar in Piping Codes (ASME, API, and other applicable codes. Experienced and detailed knowledge of pipe design, fabrication, and installation of small to medium capital projects. Experience in executing multiple project modifications, debottlenecking, maintenance activities, and retrofits involving multi-discipline interfaces. Must be capable of working on multiple small projects and tasks at one time.. Self-starter, good communication skills, organization, coordination, and leadership skills. Strong computer skills. The firm is currently contracting for a series of Sales Depots in various urban locations around Saudi Arabia and the GCC. The core purpose of this role is to manage the development of construction projects from consultation and inception through Design, CAPEX, Procurement to hand-over for execution by the Site based teams. To provide expert technical services to the Site Based Capital Project Managers and their Teams, through all phases of the Project and to advise Senior Management on Project technical questions.

  

RESPONSIBILITY: Prepare and get approval for Concept Designs in accordance with the End-User requirements and available data. Manage the development of Preliminary Designs and Scopes of Work.  Prepare Tender Documents. Draft, review and update Company’s Engineering Standards. Assist CPD in issuing the Tender Packages to selected Vendors, responding to queries and assessing the returns. Review the offers received and report with recommendations. Assist Capital Project Managers to Prepare Project Budgets and CAPEX applications. Manage consultants and internal customers to ensure objectives are met.

 

ACTIVITIES: Scoping and designing projects. Preparing Capex application for selected projects. Supporting the feasibility study with information as reired by FIS. Prequalifying appropriate suppliers to capital projects

Managing project information, schedules, cash flow, reports. Managing interface between Projects, Manufacturing, TRD, Sales & Marketing, Finance and Engineering. Attending factory testing & site commissioning. Approving functional descriptions and PIDs. Assistance with liaison with Saudi authorities for permits and approvals. Assisting in recruitment of qualified staff for projects. Contributing to medium and long term capacity planning strategy

Ensure there are adequate provision of skills, labor and guidance across all departments so as to meet the business requirements.

 

Responsibilities: To plan and execute planned preventative maintenance in all his Departments to meet the demands of the business. Assist the project team in all related issues. Ensuring they meet the agreed specification and time scale. To ensure compliance of Quality procedures by meeting Site targets for continuous improvement. To ensure full implementation of Safety systems and safe practices of work by continually upgrading safety awareness and practices within Departments teams. To adhere to financial procedures by controlling spares and expenditure. Identify and plan staff development. Ensuring technical skills meet the Business needs today and going forward

 

Activities: Submit additions/changes to PPM tasks and schedules for authorized approval and review.  Highlight and recommend additions and deductions to spares and stock holdings. Conduct a review of equipment failures. Review and monitor Engineering PPM backlog. Verify and complete work orders (TECO). Attend meetings as appropriate with Div.Eng/staff/service supplier.

 

Projects: Assist and advise on new section Projects. Attend Project planning meetings where appropriate.  Assist in commissioning and testing related Plant and ensure it meets standard and functionality. Highlight problems and prepare snagging lists. Include new equipment into Master data SAP. Ensure all relevant documentation is obtained and categorize as required

 

Quality: Attend and assist in weekly Customer/Consumer complaints meetings. Review and action all NCN’s. Submit Plant Change Approvals where required. Implement continuous improvements recommendations.

 

Health and Safety: Chair Engineering Departmental/subdivision Monthly Health and Safety Meeting. Review and report Accident. Taking appropriate action as required. Ensure monthly Risk assessments are conducted within your department. Ensure all H&S Procedures are complied with and implemented across engineering operations Sites. Ensure all staff is released for relevant Safety training to meet the business requirements.

 

Budgets and Finance. Control Overtime within your Departments within the budget. Justification and priorities. Control of Departmental Engineering Repairs and Maintenance Budgets. Approve expenditure up to SR 10K. Preparation of Purchase Requisitions. Submit the R and M Budget for the year ahead with justification. Submit Head count requirements for the Budget with justification. Monitor and review spend on a weekly basis. Justify over spend that is above the projected budget.

 

Training and Recruitment: Review and recommend training to improve skill, to meet the business requires.  Comply with training plan as agreed with Div.Eng and HRD. Ensure the Training records and Matrix are updated with the assistance of the training department. Allocate Personnel for specific training requirements

Approve contact renewals for engineering Personnel. Recommend Staff for internal Promotion. Mentoring and Tutoring of staff as require. Taking notes of their needs.

 

Others: Responsibility for Staff requirements regards: Medical needs, Social needs, Vacation arrangements, Discipline, Morale, External Visitors/contractors, Visa applications, Accommodation arrangements, Travel arrangements. All the above named others are arranged with close Liaison with HRD. 

 

Job Dimensions: Control Budgets within each department for Repair and Maintenance as set by the Business. Purchase Requisition sign off and responsibility up to SR 10K. Minor projects for continuous improvement. Subordinates, number will vary depending on location but can be above 70. Functional Areas handled: Planned Preventative Maintenance of all Machinery and Equipment. Liaison with Projects: Quality Audits: Health & Safety Audits: Liaison with HRD.

 

Job Context: Localization KSA Operation Engineering. Hours worked many occasions in excess of 12 hrs days. Work is time based, machinery breakdown/release for pm/project time scale. Etc. Most resources at hand to ensure the roles and responsibilities are fulfilled. Plant demands/volumes can cause some stress but is manageable.

Qualifications: Desirable: 5 Years Degree course in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute and five years experience in Dairy/Food/Beverages industry in a similar position.

Experience of working with automated equipment and instrumentation, computer literacy and SAP knowledge highly desirable. Any additional qualifications in alternative Engineering discipline electrical/ mechanical Engineering are an advantage

 

Experience: Minimum 7 Years Engineering Management experience in a similar role. Working with a multi skilled workforce with a Food industry background is essential. Extensive knowledge Engineering Plant, equipment and control systems including research design and development of automated equipment

Detailed Knowledge of PPM Implementation and Management. Experience in conducting Health and Safety, and Quality Audits. Permit to Work and Risk Assessment competency is desirable.

Our client is a USA General Contractor with over 30 years of construction experience. The firm specializes in U.S. federal funded design-build projects in the Middle East, Europe and Africa requiring general contractor and regional expertise. For this position we are looking for US candidates with a security clearance and experience working on building US embassy projects. You will be working in Cairo for a few months then transfer to other locations in the Middle East as the project advances.

 

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall success, safety, and timely completion of a construction project.  The Sr. Project Manager will plan and manage project construction activities and schedules and provide technical consultation to project teams, government agencies and clients. Requires 12-15 years of project management experience on large commercial construction projects ($50M+); knowledge of scheduling and organization techniques; must possess excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills; must be authorized to work in the United States and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and willingness to work overseas.

 

Requires an Engineering Bachelor’s degree as well as previous experience with OBO/Embassy and/or US Government overseas contracts.  Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain a U.S. Security clearance (Secret Clearance required).   Four (4) year technical or engineering degree (or equivalent advanced degree) plus extensive experience in the management of construction segments.  Advanced knowledge of the construction industry and company operations required. Experience as a project manager on several different projects large in scale, cost, and complexity.  Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and analytical skills a necessity. Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
