Attend client meetings and develop strong working relationships with developers, architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers. Participate in project planning, schematics, proposal writing (RFP), developing project scope, schedules and cost estimates. Provide recommendations and feedback to clients regularly. Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations and building assessments. Prepare engineering reports and strategies for modification, repair or replacement of structures. Prepare specifications, contract documents, project budgets, construction cost estimates and schedules. Supervise and/or assist Technical staff with the preparation of drawings and other construction documents. Provide engineering field services. Coordinate and monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications, budget and project schedule. Resolve current or potential problems that may arise on the job site. Experience and knowledge of building technology, applicable codes, construction detailing and working drawing production. Experience with design, specifications, cost estimating, tendering, construction administration, and inspections. Business management and supervisory experience is an asset. Knowledge/experience in cold weather construction is preferred; familiar with prairie climatic design and culture. Senior Project Manager (Oil & Gas/Industrial Construction)

Sr. Project management Employee Management: Coach and mentor the project team staff. Provide day to day direction to the team. Ensure staffing plans are developed and functional coverage is maintained for the Project.  Align the group to the Managed Transfer Process, and be directly involved with the team's progression opportunities. Functional Responsibility:  Develop the project budget for direct, indirect and other costs based on estimates provided for identified project scope of work. Support the constructability assessments for new projects, by working closely with the project teams and the Client. Utilizing the Construction Project Delivery System, lead the project team through the construction project phases. Manage the development of the contracting strategies, commercial terms for the project and finalizing the project contract. Work with the project team to develop the project schedule and conduct regular reviews and updates to the schedule based on project progress and change. Oversee the change management process and approval of all trends and change orders.  Review and provide input into the project turnover strategy (and commissioning where applicable).

 

Work with the Client to finalize agreement on the turnover plan (and commissioning where applicable), which will identify the roles responsibilities. Review all performance indicators on a shift basis, and as part of the monthly construction and business operation reviews. Provide input and take actions where required to hit targets. Align the project team to the contractual obligations and participate in contract review meetings. Conduct lessons learned sessions at key milestones identified within the construction execution plan in order to drive continuous improvement of the project and processes.  Review all performance indicators each shift and provide input/take action where required to ensure targets are met.

Manage and apply risk management to any project risks to ensure risk is minimized. Manage the manpower loading requirements by reviewing the bi-weekly manpower forecast and prioritizing labour loading based on project requirements and business priorities. Work with the Project team and client to finalize agreement on the system turnover plan, which will identify the roles and responsibilities and deliverables of client team. Work with the Functional Team Leads to align their functional plans and deliverables based on the project schedule. Develop the project documentation plan and oversee the management of the project documentation. Develop and implement the Project Communication plan.  Forecast project revenues and margins. Conduct monthly analysis to identify opportunities to meet project targets. Manage project cash flows by analyzing revenue in excess and accounts receivables.  Drive actions within the project to achieve project targets. Oversee preparation and delivery of the Financial Project Closeout Report.

 

Communication:  Develop the construction execution plan and manage to the plan through regular meetings with project team.  Hold both parties accountable for delivery of materials and engineering packages as defined within the project execution plan. Establish, communicate and execute project priorities as they apply to the Divisional Strategy and Client Contract 


Document Administration: Approve and submit any invoice/timesheet expenses which have business unit expenditures to the appropriate projects. Complete and submit monthly documents to the appropriate departments. (e.g. timesheets, expense reports, etc.).

Project Manager - Construction Facility Buildouts

Monitors actual project costs against approved capital.Informs manager if project if projected to be outside of budget.  Prepares project schedule and monitors progress against baseline. Reviews project scope to ensure that all Federal, State and local codes are adhered to. Ensures that project meets all OSHA, safety, and environmental concerns.

Works with outside contractors when necessary to execute installation of process equipment or facility modification.  Closes out project by ensuring that all required work is completed and provides closeout report indicating deviations against scope, budget , and schedule. Prepares weekly 4 up reports. Reports on scope, budget, and schedule for all current projects. 

 

Completion of special projects or assignments as requested by management. Recommends cost reduction ideas. Through course of normal work activity, identifies areas for cost reduction and submits to manager for review.

This is a cross-functional role that works within the US Technology Team to execute on existing projects and assist with new proposals. RESPONSIBILITIES


This person will be at the center of project coordination assuring that the senior leaders in CA, the drafting design team in China and the mechanical engineers / I &C teams in NC are completing projects that accurately match the customer requirements. You will be the primary source of information for each of these groups to the project team serving as the Technology Integrator. These are the primary responsibilities: Review or draft sales proposals for US and global projects, including technical description of scope and pricing information Develop tools for modeling cost of emissions control equipment (SCR for gas turbines, low NOx burners for coal plants) based on historical project execution costs Act as a technical lead for US project execution, with responsibilities including leading technical teams in the US and China to complete a project in a timely and productive manner. Complete and review mechanical and process drawings and calculations related to project execution (for example, keeping in mind that the drafting team in China may have spelling errors in English) Draft and review technical specifications (again assuring that all customer requirements and local codes are met) Work as a team member on a global execution team. Support China-US technical integration needs as required, including with logistics,
planning and strategy, execution, and training.
