To provide accurate and timely
geotechnical information through effective execution of geotechnical
investigations and review work. Open pit stability & stability of
slope. Mining related geotechnical projects. Design & construction of
Tailings Dams. Soil Liquefaction, Ground improvement. Site Investigation
& advanced in-situ testing. Earthworks & QA/Qc. Advanced Laboratory
testing. Numerical Modelling a & analysis. Centrifuge modelling. Assist
with the planning, execution, acquisition of quality field data and when
appropriate the analysis of this geotechnical data including geotechnical
logging and mapping. Assist with the delivery of safe, cost effective, quality
geotechnical drilling programs. Compilation and presentation of field
investigation results for input, which leads to the creation of design
parameters. Ensure specifications, designs and analysis meet client
requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to quality including actively
ensuring for technical correctness and accuracy of work undertaken.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential: 5 years experience in Civil, Geotechnical
or Geological fields. Experience in tailings dam design and construction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exposure to project
management skills. An understanding in technical aspects of geotechnical
investigations, civil / geotechnical designs, documentation and supervision
of civil / geotechnical projects. Familiarity with modeling software,
monitoring systems and instruments. Commitment to travel interstate and
internationally when required. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
in both small unsupervised and larger team environments. Previous
experience in the mining sector is an asset. Postgraduate degree in
Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering or associated. Click

Senior Civil/geotechnical engineer
with about 10 years of experience with mining expertise. Perth based but
will be required to go onto site for short periods to time to have a look
at projects. Salary yet to be determined but should be (+ or -) US 100K
Duties: The management and provision
of accurate and timely geotechnical information through effective execution
of geotechnical investigations and review work.
Require: Tertiary Civil, Geological or Geosciences qualifications. Member
of relevant Institute. 10+ years experience Geotechnical or Geological
experience with extensive relevant design and project management
experience. Recent experience in tailings dam design and construction.
Effective supervision skills. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills. Excellent project management skills. Thorough understanding and
demonstrated ability in technical aspects of geotechnical investigations,
civil / geotechnical designs, documentation and supervision of civil /

Associate Director

Responsible for the planning and
design of Civil/Geotechnical related projects, including feasibility and
strategic studies, scheme reviews, concept plans, detailed designs and
tender documentation. Projects may include Mining Waste Management,
Tailings Management, Heap Leach Pad Design, Waste Characterization, Rock
Mechanics, Water Management, Environment and Mine Closure. The position is
to add value and effectively liaise with internal and external clients to
win and manage a variety of projects.
Assist the Managing Director (Australia) to achieve business performance in
the area of Civil/Geotechnical related design and project management
services and continue to grow the Australian practice as a profitable
business. Manage the design projects to ensure that Design and Project
Management work is completed to a high technical standard, within agreed
budgets and timeframes and in compliance with the Quality System. Project
margins are maintained, unless exception approved by Managing Director.
OH&S requirements are fulfilled, incorporating Safety in Design guidelines.
Deliver projects successfully and be accountable for project planning,
project direction and project management. Assist the Managing Director to
achieve net revenue sales and profit figures as per targets and budget.
Develop and implement strategies in collaboration with Managing Director to
obtain marketing leads, build relationships with potential and existing
clients, and conduct face to face marketing. Provide input to proposals,
and develop bid-strategies for larger projects within the office. Demonstrated
ability to promote and work with all KP`s worldwide offices. Responsible
for the technical standard of design and project management. Provide
specialist technical input into engineering projects. Review projects
produced by the design and project management services and assist in review
of projects within the engineering group as requested by the Managing
Director. Keep up to date with technical developments in the
Civil/Geotechnical engineering business sector. Be aware of and contribute
to technical developments and work done in other offices. Click
